In addition to focusing on the transition into manhood with the male candidates, CYLC also includes females in the program for a more comprehensive approach. Each Beau selects a Belle who participates as an escort to many of the program events.
Incorporating Belles provides an opportunity for the Beaux to learn and practice etiquette and other social protocol when interacting with females. Belles also have an opportunity to participate in character education programs that promote educational, social and leadership development.
