President, Joe Wade

A native of Sharon, a small town in York County, South Carolina, Joe is a graduate of York Comprehensive High School and the current President of the CYLC, Inc. After high school, he matriculated to South Carolina State College where he obtained a degree in Biology and Chemistry.

Joe has worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for over three decades in areas of seafood safety and development, marine forensics, environmental physiology and microbiology.

For many years he was the Coordinator of the Combined Federal Campaign/Trident United Way for his work site. He has won many accolades for his fund-raising efforts. He is a Sunday School Teacher, an Ordained Deacon and Licensed Minister of the Gospel. As a former Youth Minister, Joe knows the importance of good role models and mentoring for today’s young people. Having been married to Patricia (Robinson) Wade for 35 years, the Wades have four daughters, one son and the proud grandparents of three grandsons and one grand daughter. Their son Joseph Patrick, is a Clemson University and Beau Class of 2013 graduate  and winner of the Dr. David C. Floyd Award.
